It is with great pleasure that we announce that after two weeks of mass mobilizations, the workers of Webhelp have proceeded to the creation of their own company union!
After the great success of the two strike battles on 8 and 19 February, the mobilisations outside the Parliament and the Ministry of Labour, the Webhelp workers, having on their side their struggling colleagues from Teleperformance, T-TEC, Cosmote-Evalue and Foundever, having on their side the sectoral trade union, the SETIP, sent a loud message that they will not back down if their fair demands are not met.
The struggle is beginning to bear fruit! The workers are starting to win. This is shown by the establishment of the union, which is the first step towards a collective and organised way for workers to claim their rights.
We showed them our strength and they showed us that they are afraid!
The employers have been forced all this time, to show their real face and drop the “think human” slogan by spreading all kinds of lies and trying to intimidate the workers into not taking part in the strike. However, they achieved the opposite! The workers became more militant and more determined not to back down. Showing not only that they were not afraid, but they held an even bigger strike rally both outside the company and outside the ministry demanding that the company sit at the table to negotiate a collective agreement.
The beginning was made. We continue even more determined and militant. We are pushing them even harder. We support with all our strength the nationwide strike on Wednesday, 28 February.
One for all and all for one. On the one hand are the profits of big business and on the other our lives and modern needs.
