Colleagues,
We are astonished to learn that the understaffing of a department — especially a tourism-related one during a period of high demand — is now considered the responsibility of the worker.. With outrageous audacity, colleagues have been informed that they cannot take two consecutive weeks of AHL, as stipulated by the law on summer vacations. However, since the company cares deeply about its personnel, it has made a huge concession: it will grant leave on the condition that each worker works one hour of overtime every day!
The law allowing unlimited overtime for the same employer has barely passed, and Concentrix, in this particular tourism project, is already going one step further… MANDATORY overtime if you want to take leave!
It doesn’t matter if you’ve worked in the project for years. It doesn’t matter if you’re a single parent or a mother of an infant — if you want to take time off, you’ll have to work extra! After all, whose fault is the lack of staff if not the staff’s itself, right? Of course, the idea of hiring more people to meet increased needs never even crosses the minds of the management, who continue to demand flawless service from exhausted workers.
Likewise, it seems to be a problem in this project to be both a worker and a mother!
With schools closed and no childcare infrastructure available, the company has forced a mother of a 2.5-year-old child to stop working from home and return to the office — completely indifferent to where and with whom the child will stay.
Since these incidents appear to be becoming routine, we call on all workers from all departments to stay alert, to get organized, and to stay in contact with our Union for every attempt to violate our labor rights.
The struggle for humane working conditions doesn’t go on vacation. We are united against every effort to undermine our rights.
