EVERYONE ON STRIKE – TUESDAY, OCTOBER 14, 10:30 AM, PROPYLAEA

The massive strike of October 1, with the participation of thousands of workers across the country — including at Concentrix — sent a strong message to both employers and the government: the bill that wants to turn us into machines is rejected.

A clear sign of the employer’s panic was that on the day of the strike, they tried every possible way to intimidate workers, even going so far as to threaten colleagues not to join the strike because “they don’t know who they’re up against!”

We respond that we know very well who stands against us!
It is the employers and the government, who seek to legalize the exhaustion of workers — who want to make us work up to 13 hours a day for the same employer, effectively abolishing the 8-hour workday and turning our lives into a modern labor nightmare.

They want workers without rights, without fixed schedules, without collective agreements, without a voice. They want us available at all times, to exploit us as much as possible, whenever and for as long as they wish, according to their own needs, in order to survive in their race for competition and profit.

Now is the time to strengthen the workers’ organization in every department of the company.
We must escalate our struggle to withdraw this anti-labor monstrosity and open the way for real demands and the satisfaction of our needs.

We must now strengthen even more decisively the fight for: a 7-hour workday – 5-day week – 35-hour work week, for the signing of a company-level Collective Labor Agreement with real wage increases and effective health and safety measures in the workplace.

We demand:
• Withdrawal of the new anti-labor bill
• 7-hour day – 5-day week – 35-hour work week, with stable daily working hours
• Real wage increases and immediate signing of a Collective Agreement based on our Union’s proposal

NO TOLERANCE FOR THE COMPANY’S THREATS

EVERYONE ON STRIKE – OCTOBER 1st, 10:30 a.m., PROPYLAEA

Gathering point: 9:30 a.m., Kaningos Square

It seems the company loses its composure at the very mention of the word STRIKE.
They intimidate colleagues (“you don’t know who you’re up against”), they urge workers to take leave instead of declaring strike participation, they spread defeatism claiming that “nothing ever changes,” and they suddenly offer remote work—while denying this very right to new mothers and workers facing serious health issues.

Why is that?

Could it be because every company that cares about its profits trembles when workers organize?

Could it be because they know that when a worker decides to go on strike—against a whole system that pushes them to sit on the couch as a passive spectator rather than an active participant—something powerful is at stake?

Could it be because this strike, which stands against employers’ ruthless demands for 13-hour workdays, arbitrary leave, and the abolition of basic labor rights, becomes a matter of life and death for our class?

Could it be because workplaces have turned into horror escape rooms, with safety and hygiene rules rarely followed, leading to a sharp rise in workplace accidents and fatalities?

Could it be because, in the end, employers know very well that without us they are nothing but parasites—since we are the ones producing their profits?

We, the workers of Concentrix, have one thing to say:

WE ARE HUMAN BEINGS, NOT MACHINES

Everyone to the Nationwide Strike – October 1st! The 13-hour workday bill will not pass!

Uncategorized September 28, 2025

Withdraw the new anti-labor bill that allows 13-hour workdays and flexible schedules!

The new government bill, a natural continuation of the Hatzidakis and Georgiadis laws, introduces the so-called “right” to work 13 hours a day for a single employer.
They are trying to convince us that overwork and exhausting overtime are a right — and at the same time, they make overtime cheaper for employers by reducing the additional contributions they have to pay.

They are also targeting summer vacation, abolishing the employer’s obligation to grant it during the specific period and without fragmentation.

At the same time that this bill is in “public consultation,” the Federation of Hellenic Information Technology & Communications Enterprises (SEPE) is demanding even more “facilitations” from the government.
All the anti-worker laws of recent years are not enough for them — they want us to work non-stop, as much as the employers’ profits demand, without limits on overtime!
They are even asking for the time we spend preparing to start or finish work to be excluded from the paid 8-hour shift, effectively adding one more hour to our working day!
And, outrageously, they want workers to pay out of their own salaries for the training required for our jobs!

They are ruthless! They want us working nonstop!

At Concentrix, we know firsthand the consequences of these government and SEPE “proposals” — even before this monstrous bill is passed!
It’s nothing new for management to demand that we split up our summer vacation, claiming there isn’t enough staff to cover the shifts.
We’re not shocked to hear them ask for no limits on overtime — overtime hours are already sky-high in many departments, with management shamelessly telling us it’s a way to increase our income.

But they are hiding the real truth: As working hours increase, company profits skyrocket! This enormous profit comes directly from our labor and effort.

Our union calls on all workers to take matters into our own hands and fight back!
Now is the time to strengthen our union, the voice of workers against employer attacks!

We are putting all our strength into making the October 1st strike massive and powerful!
Only through organized struggle can we put up barriers to their plans!

We demand:

  • The new anti-labor bill must not be submitted!
  • 7-hour day, 5-day week, 35-hour workweek!
  • Wage increases and a signed Collective Labor Agreement.
  • Reinstatement of the 3-year increments and recognition of all past working years.
  • Health and safety measures in our workplaces.

We condemn the outrageous decision to release the Nazi criminal N. Michaloliakos from prison!

Uncategorized September 17, 2025

It is at the very least outrageous that, 12 years after the cold-blooded murder of Pavlos Fyssas and the murderous attack on PAME trade unionists and KKE members in Perama, the leader of the Nazi criminal organization Golden Dawn, N. Michaloliakos, is being released from prison on the pretext of health reasons. We truly wonder what kind of “health reasons” worms like him could possibly face…

His place, and that of his gang, is in prison, and their so-called “ideology” belongs in the dustbin of history — where the strong and united workers’ and people’s movement has sent them and will keep sending them, no matter how many times they try to crawl back out in different forms.

Our union, with the majority of its members being migrants, women, and workers who struggle day and night to make ends meet, stands fearlessly against fascism, its visible and hidden representatives, and above all the system that nurtures them and uses them as guard dogs, ready to tear apart anyone who dares to raise their head.

We support and will take part in the rally called by the Labor Center of Piraeus (EKP) on Thursday 18/09, at 5:30 p.m., at the Pavlos Fyssas memorial in Keratsini.

We will not allow fascist rot to infect our neighborhoods and our workplaces.

Have the new anti-labor law that concerns the 13-hour workday withdrawn! EVERYONE JOIN THE DEMONSTRATION ON MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, AT 7:30 PM, AT SYNTAGMA

Have the new anti-labor law that concerns the 13-hour workday withdrawn!
Everyone join the demonstration on Monday, 8/09, 7:30 p.m., at Syntagma

The new government bill escalates its attack on workers, building upon previous anti-labor laws, and seeks to establish 13-hour workdays for a single employer as standard practice. It further cheapens overtime for employers, by reducing the additional contributions they are required to pay.

It also targets summer leave, abolishing the employer’s obligation to grant it within the designated period and without splitting it up. This bill is clearly designed to serve the interests of big business groups.

We are already living the consequences, even before the bill has been voted in!
This summer, in many projects, workers were pressured to split their summer leave, being told there wasn’t enough staff to cover the gaps, while “flexibility” was presented as being “for everyone’s good.”
At the same time, overtime is demanded on a permanent basis, under the pretext that workers will “increase their income.”

The government’s narrative has already taken shape in our industry, including at Concentrix, where workers are “voluntarily” asked to work overtime!

They are hiding their true goal: to increase working hours in order to extract even greater profits from our already unpaid labor.
They indirectly admit that wages are insufficient, forcing many of us to work second jobs just to survive.

Our lives will not get better with 13-hour workdays, but with substantial wage increases, reduction of working hours, and stable schedules.

We demand:

  • The new anti-labor bill must not be submitted!
  • 7-hour workday, 5-day workweek, 35-hour week.
  • Wage increases and signing of Collective Labor Agreements.
  • Restoration of the three-year seniority allowances and their recognition throughout the entire working life.
  • Health and safety measures in the workplace.

Time off? Only if you work overtime. Had children? Better get used to leaving them alone from infancy!

Colleagues,

We are astonished to learn that the understaffing of a department — especially a tourism-related one during a period of high demand — is now considered the responsibility of the worker.. With outrageous audacity, colleagues have been informed that they cannot take two consecutive weeks of AHL, as stipulated by the law on summer vacations. However, since the company cares deeply about its personnel, it has made a huge concession: it will grant leave on the condition that each worker works one hour of overtime every day!

The law allowing unlimited overtime for the same employer has barely passed, and Concentrix, in this particular tourism project, is already going one step further… MANDATORY overtime if you want to take leave!

It doesn’t matter if you’ve worked in the project for years. It doesn’t matter if you’re a single parent or a mother of an infant — if you want to take time off, you’ll have to work extra! After all, whose fault is the lack of staff if not the staff’s itself, right? Of course, the idea of hiring more people to meet increased needs never even crosses the minds of the management, who continue to demand flawless service from exhausted workers.

Likewise, it seems to be a problem in this project to be both a worker and a mother!
With schools closed and no childcare infrastructure available, the company has forced a mother of a 2.5-year-old child to stop working from home and return to the office — completely indifferent to where and with whom the child will stay.

Since these incidents appear to be becoming routine, we call on all workers from all departments to stay alert, to get organized, and to stay in contact with our Union for every attempt to violate our labor rights.

The struggle for humane working conditions doesn’t go on vacation. We are united against every effort to undermine our rights.

The Union denounces unacceptable hygiene conditions

Uncategorized August 1, 2025

The Workers’ Union intervened on Thursday, July 31st, with the management of Concentrix regarding the presence of bedbugs on the 5th floor of the Metropolis building.

Following reports from workers that management had known about the issue since Wednesday, July 30th, but had taken no action to stop employees from working under such unacceptable and unhygienic conditions.

Under the immediate pressure from the Union, the company shamelessly made statements about “employee hygiene,” trying to cover up their own delay in taking action, claiming that workers would be removed from the area so that disinfestation could take place on Friday, August 1st.

Once again, we witness that the problem is not the inability of departments to coordinate in order to deal with such a situation (yes, we even heard that excuse!), but that the company’s profits come first, and only afterward come the health and safety measures that the company so proudly advertises through various drills!

We call on all colleagues to get in touch with the Union, to get organized and to fight together so we can work under better conditions within our departments!

Solidarity with the workers of Nokia

Uncategorized July 23, 2025

The Workers’ Union at Webhelp (Concentrix) stands in solidarity with and supports the work stoppage declared by the NOKIA Workers’ Union on Wednesday, 23/7/25, from 14:00 to 16:00, against the arbitrary transfer of 8 colleagues to a subcontracting company.

These colleagues were informed “overnight” that their employer was changing—yet no one bothered to inform them about the new terms and conditions of employment. They also conveniently “forgot” to give them the right to choose!

This is nothing new in our sector. There have been far too many instances where colleagues have found themselves with a “gun to their head,” being forced to “choose” between being transferred to another project or losing their job altogether.

In a time of technological advancement—when everything should make it easier for workers to work less and enjoy the fruits of their labor more—instead of feeling secure in our jobs, we are constantly confronted with arbitrariness, exploitation, and the devaluation of our labor power.

We loudly declare that we will no longer tolerate unilateral or blackmailing decisions. We are workers—we produce wealth—and we have the right to determine, at the very least, where and how we work.

We support the fair demands of the NOKIA workers and demand:

  • That no colleague be transferred
  •  That the process be frozen at least until 1/10/25, so that workers have the right to apply for other positions within NOKIA
  • That all colleagues be absorbed into other departments within NOKIA without adverse changes
  • That all workers and the Union receive an official and detailed update, with written answers to all the questions and demands that have been raised

The struggle of the NOKIA workers is our struggle, too.
All for one, and one for all!
