Shame on them! Firing a worker with a chronic condition!

Uncategorized July 4, 2025

THINK HUMAN (ΝΟΤ)

Our Union denounces the management of Concentrix for firing a colleague with multiple sclerosis from a Greek project, despite her facing a serious vision problem!

This is how they show their “respect” for people: by dismissing someone with a chronic illness!

Under the familiar pretext of performance, they put her on the notorious Performance Improvement Program (PIP) to “improve” her numbers, at a time when the procedures in this department are under development and constantly changing.

No one, of course, talks about the zero-score monitors handed out like candy to colleagues — not only used as a pretext to cut bonuses, but also as a tool to push workers into performance evaluations.

Of course — since the colleague “didn’t meet the targets,” HR made sure to inform her that she was being dismissed, without giving her the chance to transfer to another department!
That’s how eager they were — while work intensification in the department is off the charts, the senior supervisor removed her from the team’s group chat on Teams before her dismissal was even fully communicated, just in case she said anything!

We’re saying it loud and clear once again: workers are not numbers — and we will not allow our lives to be treated as disposable for the sake of the company’s profits!

WE DEMAND:

  • Take back the dismissal of our colleague!
  • The abolition of the unacceptable evaluation program (PIP).
  • Full staffing of all shifts with the necessary personnel.
  • No shift without a supervisor and proper support.

Uprising! They sow devastation among the peoples of the world!

THE WAR FINISHES WHAT THEIR PEACE HAS LEFT INTACT

After America’s involvement in the war that has been going on for the last few days between Israel and Iran, we all understand that difficult days are dawning for the peoples of the same and neighboring countries, including Greece.

Our union is multicultural, with members from many countries, many of which are Middle Eastern, and cannot but take a clear and loud stand against the imperialist war that brings only destruction, death and misery.

We demand that any involvement of Greece in the war be stopped. The immediate closure of the NATO bases, the end of the surrender of airports, ports, military installations, equipment and personnel of the Greek armed forces to support the murderous operations carried out by the USA.

The government of New Democracy with its supporters has turned the country into a base of war and a target of retaliation.

The workers at Concentrix stand in solidarity with the victims of war, we stand up against every threat. We are not divided by origin, colour or religion. We are united by our class and the struggle to overthrow the system that breeds wars.

Solidarity with the Strikers of Speedex!

Uncategorized May 5, 2025

We express our solidarity and stand by the workers of Speedex, who are fighting for the re-employment of their colleagues and for the signing of an operational collective agreement.

We strongly condemn the company’s attempt to terrorize by sending the Speedex Workers’ Union to court, calling their fair strike to be illegal, while the company tried to set up strike-breaking mechanisms. We have a lot of experience both as a movement in general and in our sector of similar practices.

We have only one answer to give:

Terror will not prevail — the workers’ struggle will break it!

Our union, like all class unions, we demand permanent and stable work with rights and with wages that correspond to our modern needs. We march against any logic that wants silence in workplaces, heads down and fatalistic acceptance of legal slavery. Solidarity is the weapon of our class and with it we move forward united in front of every battle for better conditions today and tomorrow.

Strike on May Day 2025

Uncategorized April 28, 2025

MAY DAY IS NOT A BANK HOLIDAY

IT’S A STRIKE

The workers of Concentrix, who come from almost every corner of the globe, we honour May Day by participating massively in the strike mobilisation. We put down the headset, turn off the chats, put aside our back-office work and stand up in memory of those who gave their lives to ensure that today we have 8 hours of work, freedom and the right to live a life with rights.

We honour the memory of the fallen of Chicago in 1886 and Thessaloniki in 1936. The 200 communists of Kaisariani on May Day 1944. The victims of the crime in Tempe. The at least 200 deaths that our class has mourned from industrial accidents in the last two years. The thousands of deaths and refugees generated by the rotten system we live under. Wars, disasters, genocide, mothers with babies in boats ending up in liquid graves. Palestine, Syria, Lebanon. Every corner of the world where “people are killed for the master’s food”.

Either their profits or our lives.

we will not take a step back.

Today, more urgently than ever, we have a duty to intensify the struggle for work with conditions and wages that meet modern needs. Today, 139 years after the bloody workers’ uprising in Chicago, we work in complete insecurity. The eight-hour shift, which was achieved more than a century ago, seems like a distant memory. The salaries run out on the very first 10 days of the month, and every month we throw to chance which bills we will leave unpaid for the next month.

In a company like Concentrix, where every now and then we are informed about the profit barrier that is constantly being exceeded thanks to our work, it is unacceptable that there are workers who have panic attacks, who are told on Friday night what time they will work on Monday, where the complaints to the labour inspectorate about labour rights violations are never-ending.

Colleagues, our Union recently reached its first year of existence. A Union created through struggles, through unprecedented strike battles. Let this May Day be a great birthday celebration for our Union, alongside our sectoral union, the SETIP.

We strengthen our class struggle against the system that deprives us of oxygen!

Enough is enough! Better working conditions for all!

Uncategorized March 11, 2025

We salute our colleagues in the banking projects of the company who took the decision together with the Union to proceed on Wednesday 12/03 to a 4-hour work stoppage from 10.00 am – 14.00 pm.

We shake their hand, that in terrible conditions of intensification, where they receive one call after another, one chat after another, pressure from the managers for overtime, they decided to resist the brutality that the employer is trying to impose.

No one from the Management can say that they don’t know anymore! Colleagues themselves have often communicated that something needs to be done and have tried to find the management, which seems to be absent in front of the needs of the workers.

All they know is to ask for overtime and warn employees for negative customer feedback. They even went so far as to tell colleagues that if they do 4 – 10 hours of overtime they will get 30€ on their Up Hellas card!!!! Not to mention the audacity of a team leader who replied to a colleague that “if you don’t like it why are you sitting in the company?

Enough is enough!

We call on all colleagues to organize themselves in the Union and together we fight for better working conditions!

We demand:

– Wage increases based on modern needs.

– Monthly schedule with shifts communicated in a timely manner.

– Stop the exhausting overtime requested due to lack of staff.

– Reduce the number of chats served at one time.

– Stop the pressure on anyone requesting early leave.

– Stop sickness and leave being a criterion for bonus reduction.

– Stop the unacceptable status of employees requesting time off for physical needs.

– Stop blackmailing colleagues to come in from the office as a means of pressure.

– Have a thorough inspection of the air conditioning as mold was found and immediate cleaning.

Together we will all fight to change the situation!

We have the right to work as human beings and not as slaves!

8 March – Unrelenting struggle for women’s equality!

Uncategorized March 7, 2025

8 March – Unrelenting struggle for women’s equality!

It is a day to honour women’s struggles for equality, for equal rights in society, at work, in life itself. We continue to honour and celebrate the 8th March, the International Woman’s Day, until we achieve true equality, true freedom from all the slavery that forces us to serve our multifaceted daily lives without end. We are working women, mothers, students, housewives who are giving a real struggle not to reach despair!

We were informed of the company’s “gift”, the day before the anniversary of the women’s uprising, of free hairdressing and make-up services and we really wonder. What our female colleagues today are missing is a nice haircut and a well-done make-up? Don’t we need human working conditions? Understanding and support for working mothers? Support for female students? Respect and recognition?

In a workplace where we have recently received complaints from working mothers about unacceptable behaviour. Typical of what was said were things like no matter what if you are a mother of a new baby, you will come to the office”, “if your child is sick, take annual leave”, “if you have an exam, you will make up for it with overtime”.

We are of course not surprised that we are treated as pawns on their chessboard. With beautiful hair and well-painted lips, perhaps, but always pawns in the service of over-producing profit for the “king”.

In the past few days, we have participated in the most magnificent mobilisations this country has ever known. The whole nation shouted loudly that the crime in Tempe will not be allowed to be covered up, that all the guilty parties without exception must be held accountable, that measures must be taken to ensure that no similar predestined crime will ever happen again, ever, anywhere.

We honour and celebrate the 8th of March with all our soul and the optimism that comes from the struggles!

We call everyone to join on Friday 7/03 at 19.00 at Syntagma to continue the struggle against the policy that leads to “new Tempe”.

We participate in the event organized by the Federation of Women of Greece (OGE) with Unions and mass organizations on Saturday 8/3, at 11:00 at Syntagma at the beginning of Ermou and in the march that will follow to Monastiraki.

WE ARE INSPIRED BY THE GREAT WOMEN’S LABOUR STRUGGLES

WE ESCALATE THE STRUGGLE FOR OUR LIVES AND THE FUTURE OF OUR CHILDREN

We all join on Wednesday 05/03 at 19.00 at Syntagma!

Uncategorized March 4, 2025

Everyone to the mobilization at Syntagma on Wednesday 05/03/2025 at 19.00.

The Board of Directors of the Union salutes the hundreds of striking colleagues, even more so those who for the first time went on strike by standing up, those who participated in the largest popular mobilization we have ever experienced, joining their voice with all the people.

The mass participation in the strike of 28th February proved that workers do not bow our heads, we do not accept a life that is put on the scales of profit, we do not tolerate the dilemma “their profits or our lives”.

We continue our struggle until the culprits are punished, so that the crime in Tempe is not covered up. We promise that we will go all the way in the struggle that is taking away our lives and dreams.

With determination, with organization in our Unions, with our struggle in the streets, we will impose our right!

We all join the next battles! We all join the struggle for the life we deserve!

Together with the thousands of people to find oxygen which is found in the struggles for our own right, for our own lives.

We demonstrate at 19.00 at Syntagma.

We meet at 18.30 in Monastiraki.

THE CRIME OF THE TEMPE WILL NOT BE COVERED UP! All join the strike on 28 FEBRUARY! GENERAL ASSEMBLY of the Union, SATURDAY 15/02 12.00

Uncategorized February 13, 2025

Everyone at the General Assembly of our Union, Saturday 15 February, at 31st Platonos Street (Kallithea),12:00pm.

28 February we all strike!

Do not cover up the crime in Tempe!

Colleagues,

The Workers’ Union in Webhelp (Concentrix) calls on all colleagues to participate in the strike on the 28th of February, to join our voices with all colleagues in the sector, in Teleperformance, in Foundever, in TTEC who are experiencing the same or very close problems as ours. With students, pupils, railway workers, teachers, health workers, miners and dockers.

As workers, we know first-hand what the “let’s go and see” logic that led to the state crime in Tempe means. The intensification, the pressure, the shutting down of departments, the layoffs, the warning letters, the panic attacks. All to maximize their profitability with complete disregard for our lives.

We all live and work in a vast vale of Tempe, in a general work jungle, and dangers at every turn of everyday life, whether in trains and public transport, in understaffed hospitals, in the schools of the sponsors who want to impose, where ceilings by chance do not fall on the heads of our children. The intensification, the pressure, the monitoring of every last second of our working day.

Our struggle for the signing of a Collective Labour Agreement with rights and achievements for all, increases that cover our modern needs, immediate implementation of the Presidential Decree on the organisation of working time for working on screens, the immediate provision of ergonomic equipment to all colleagues who work by telework. It is directly linked to the struggle against the logic that created the crime in Tempe, the policy that promotes its cover-up.

Our lives are NOT a cost! On 28 February we all participate in the strike!

We will not step back! We will not accept to live like modern slaves for their profits! We assert that the promise we made to be the voice of all those that died will be fulfilled by fighting to the end!

We demand:

    • Hold all criminal and political accountable for the crime of Tempe.
    • Stop the dismissals now.
    • The signing of a Collective Labour Agreement with: permanent contracts for all colleagues, raises for all that meet our needs, rights and gains that affect every aspect of our work.
    • Immediate implementation of the necessary health and safety measures for all, especially for colleagues who work from home and provide ergonomic desks and chairs.

We call:

    • To the General National strike on 28/02 and the gathering at Syntagma at 11.00 am, which has already been announced by dozens of Labor Centers, Federations and Unions all over Greece.

Everyone at the General Assembly of our Union, Saturday 15 February, at 31st Platonos Street (Kallithea),12:00pm.

General Assembly on Saturday 15 February

Uncategorized February 9, 2025

Today, Sunday 9/02, the Board of Directors of the Workers’ Union of Webhelp held a meeting.

A discussion was developed about the attempt to cover up the Tempe crime, the causes and culprits behind the policy of liberalization and privatization of the railroad and its operation for profit.

It also addressed the situation in the company’s departments, the intensification of work, the dismissal of colleagues, the wage freeze and the financial difficulties faced by workers.

It was decided:

    • Strike on 28 February and participation in the 11.00 a.m. meeting at Syntagma.
    • Holding a General Assembly on Saturday 15 February (place and time to be announced).
    • Participation in the meeting of the Federation of Private Employees of Greece (OIYE), focusing on the problems of the sector and the demand for Collective Labour Agreements on Wednesday 12/2.

The workers will not back down from their needs

Uncategorized January 29, 2025

Colleagues,

We are denouncing the management for holding the workers of the project dealing with banking operations “hostages”, as they are given a weekly schedule instead of a monthly one, in contrast to all the other departments of the company.

The excuse that was given to the colleagues who have been working for the second month under this unacceptable situation, was that the transition to the new shift schedule that the company is now using is not yet completed.

The colleagues not only don’t have a schedule in order to plan their obligations, but also, as a result of the intensification, they now have to answer 12 chats at the same time and are under pressure from the supervisors regarding how fast they respond, although the initial information they were given was that they would serve a maximum of 3 chats!

A lot of things have been said.. so we wonder how it is that the rest of the company’s projects have completed the transition to the new program and the only project that has an issue is this? Isn’t the official mail informing the entire company that by December 2024 these changes would be completed valid?

Why are our colleagues serving 12 customers at once in a project that involves bank accounts (and more), when the official update mentioned that they would manage up to 3 written conversations due to the nature of the project?

The responsibility of the company is to provide our colleagues with the same monthly schedule that they have been working with all along and to inform them in a timely manner, not on a weekly basis as it’s happening now.

We call on the management to ensure that our colleagues will have a monthly schedule as from February and to immediately stop the awful 12 chat policy!

Employees have a life in addition to their work, no matter how much the company tries to destroy it too!

We will not tolerate our colleagues being told to ‘be patient,’ nor the fact that there is currently a team leader in the project who dares to tell colleagues that ‘if you don’t like it, the door is open’ or that if they want to see a doctor, they must take AHL instead of waiting for the schedule.

We demand:

– That a monthly schedule for all workers in the project to be issued in a timely manner.

– Stop workers from handling 12 chats at the same time!

– That workers will be given all the leaves that they have requested.

– To accommodate colleagues who are studying regarding the schedule and provide them with timely information.

Our Union calls on our colleagues in the project to contact the Union immediately. No one should accept this awful situation any longer!

Together we will all fight to improve the working conditions in all departments.
